The Dell Chromebook 3100 Unboxing/Cover By Shazil Butt
what’s happening? It’s another day, another unboxing. It’s a Dell Chromebook. Yeah, that’s it. Dell Chromebook. How exciting is that?
So you’re wondering probably why do I have a Dell Chromebook?
Well, you know, I like Chromebook, Cirlot, and Dallas get some interesting, compelling products or pretty affordable. And more importantly, these are education-only products. So they’re made for students. So they’re really rugged and. Yeah, and cheap, too.
Relatively speaking. 400$. So I wanted to like, get one and play with it.
And I was going on it for you. So let’s get started. The thing about this is that it’s all from above. So here we are.
Yeah. Oh. What’s in here. There it is. It is a Chromebook and a bunch of stuff in here. So let’s pull out the Chromebook first. I’m going to switch this around a little bit so we can see what’s going on here. You’re area.
Don’t turn it on to the. Yeah, it’s a croon. OK. There it is. It says Chromebook on it.
And there’s a bunch of stuff here that’s gonna pull on that. See what’s in there. And then we’ll take all of this off and have a look showing think open this upside down, because, you know, that’s what I do. All right. Let’s get this out of the way.
All right. So we got the laptop here and we’ve got some documentation, supplementary information, warranty, et cetera. You know, there’s something else in the box I’m just gonna reach and get it. It’s right here.
Let’s see what it says. That’s the actual manual for it doesn’t tell you much.
No. 1, push a bar. But number 2, 1. Number one, plug it in. Second, push a bar button. All right, cool.
So then we have this, which is some zero. No information. All right. So we got fabric, an AC adapter, cable, and a laptop. Let’s a look at the fabric real quick, because this is really good.
This is a USB type C power break. The cables permanently attached, though.
But I think this is gonna be a 65. So that’s pretty good. That’s a nice powerful SBC power delivery charge you probably use with multiple devices. A little bulky though. Probably won’t use this.
I’ve got a bunch of 65 watts smaller-size adapters I can use. So next thing is I will see a cord I’d sealed. But you get the idea it’s us grounded on one end. It’s got that weird thing that looks like a 3 pronged connector and that’s it full.
So let’s have a look at the laptop because that’s really all I care about at the point today. And yeah, this is cool.
It’s got this kind of like it feels like a textured plastic, like not a soft-touch plastic, but like a textured plastic. And I like that really rugged feeling. The edges all the way around a rubber. So this is a rubber finish right here, all the way around.
So on the left-hand side, you’ve got maybe the power button, some USP three love type A, some you, SBC love, and sort of security port right here on the left side, you’ve got.
Oh, no, that probably was the volume or something because this is the power button.
Another year, SBC Port USP types a micro SD headphone jack. And again, this is all rubberized in the back. You get the hinges. So this is a 2 in 1 converted into a tablet. And on the bottom you’ve got the same super rugged, you know, textured hard plastic material.
And that’s the point of this for education.
So chrome books are cool. And I wanted to check one on that was kind of on the rugged side. So here we go. We turn
We opened it up. Here are the keyboard deck and the trackpad. And, of course, it starts right up with the Chrome logo, you can see here. And yeah, it’s just booting. Now, you can see there’s a lot of bezzle on here, but this is Gorilla Glass is really cool.
So it’s a capacitive touch Gorilla Glass panel. 11-inch displays, 11.6 diagonally.
So, you know, pretty nice. It’s only a 768 by 13, 66 display. So it’s not super high and 760 by 36. No retina here. There’s a Webcam up here. Again, there’s rubber here all the way around the rim. This is all rubber. So pretty rugged.
And drums, a keyboard tech keyboard feels nice. No flex whatsoever.
This is very, very promising. Low world. Yeah. Very nice trackpads along. Small side. And I don’t think it’s glass, but you can see here that clicks nicely.
It’s set to click a little more on the bottom side.
But anyway, you get the idea for this, Suzanne. Ellie, Delite here on a true if you see it. So there’s a sort of power indicator here. And, of course, an Intel logo. You’re probably gonna wonder what the specs are on this.
Well, let me tell you, it’s pretty easy. It’s a Celeron and 4000 processor.
Nothing too crazy here. Dual-core, 2.6 gigahertz, four megs of cash, 6-watt chip. And we’ve got 4 gigs around. Nothing too much is an eight gig version of this well. 64 gig. Yeah.
See, SSD, there’s a 32 gig version, the eight gig model has a 32 gig SSD and it’s got a Wi-Fi AC and Bluetooth 5 radio. And that’s basically it, folk. It’s ruggedized.
Two and one Chromebook from down cost about 419$ in this configuration. You know, a little is pricey than your average entry-level. Chromebook is definitely an internal Chromebook. But here’s the cool part.
The cool part is that it’s ruggedized because it’s for student use.
And you can see, you can flip it all the way over into a tablet. Is really nice. It’s a little on the heavy side. But honestly, this thing is going to survive a beating.
So I’m not too concerned in terms of weight. Plus, I never really use my Chromebook says tablets. I use the laptops and it’s nice to have a touch screen. So there you go. That’s it. That’s the Dell Chromebook.
11 3102 and one. That’s Dell Chromebook. 1130.
One hundred. 2 in 1. Rugged education special with rubberized edges and super hard texture plastic. Kudos to Dell for making this rugged product without having to spend money on a tough book or something.
You’re going to say tough books on a different league. But you know, it’s a start.
